I made this pen from a Black Locust tree at Washington Crossing growing near the spot where Washington’s men, horses, and cannon were loading into boats to cross the dangerous ice filled Delaware river on that famous Christmas night, in preparation for the successful surprise attack in the 1st Battle of Trenton. This led to the Ten Crucial Days that rekindled the struggle of the failing American Revolution.
This pen is a chatoyant honey brown with a darker section surrounding some lapis circling a chip of mother of pearl . The tree was located near 40°17'49.96"N, 74°52'25.19"W.
