Washington Crossing Black Locust #I;ATH11059
$ 79.00
I made this pen from a Black Locust tree at Washington Crossing growing near the spot where Washington’s men, horses, and cannon were loading into boats to cross the dangerous ice filled Delaware river on that famous Christmas night, in preparation for the successful surprise attack in the 1st Battle of Trenton. This led to the Ten Crucial Days that rekindled the struggle of the failing American Revolution.
This pen is a chatoyant silver brown with darker streaks and patterns. There is a dark gray oval surrounding some lighter and softer wood. This softer wood is flatter than the rest of the pen. The tree was located near 40°17'49.96"N, 74°52'25.19"W.
